Coupons & Tickets
What is prizeWise
We are pleased to announce the highly anticipated launch of prizeWise took place Friday, May 21, 2004, at roughly 3:00 p.m. PST. We encourage users to post prizes, and invite all users to begin purchasing coupons and entering sweepstakes.
PrizeWise users will receive five (5) free tickets to their account for every new user they refer to the site (tics will be received automatically after the new user pays the $15 registration fee to sell). All new users will be asked for the name or e-mail address of the user who referred them during registration, which user will be given the tickets.
WHAT IS PRIZEWISE??????
PrizeWise is a coupon retailer that allows its users to participate in an online trading platform similar to eBay. The difference is that prizeWise users attempt to win the items posted on the site in sweepstakes-style auctions instead of bidding on them. See "The Buying and Selling Process" below for specific details. If you are someone who enjoys buying and selling on eBay, prizeWise is for you. If you are someone who enjoys winning valuable items and saving hundreds with countless merchants, prizeWise is for you. PrizeWise is for everyone (see Official Rules for eligibility restrictions).
To buy and sell on the site you must first register to become a member of the prizeWise Sweepstakes Rewards Program. There is no cost to become a member. Once registered, you may post items on the site for sale that other registered users will attempt to win with tickets worth one dollar a piece (subject to a one time $15.00 posting fee for unlimited use). They have acquired these tickets by writing in for a free game piece, or by buying coupons on the site which come with a free ticket. We have hundreds of coupons in our database that will save you hundreds with countless merchants. Once an item is won, the item's offeror is paid directly by prizeWise, rather than by the winner. Offerors choose the price which they want for their goods, and receive that amount once the item is won (less our commission).
ONLINE SWEEPSTAKES
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY to obtain a sweepstakes ticket and participate in the sweepstakes. Anyone eighteen (18) years of age or older may email in for a free sweepstakes ticket. To request a free ticket, send an email to: customerservice@prizeWise.com.
(Limit one free ticket per user.)
Note: PrizeWise automatically donates 1% of the gross price of each item won to the charity of a Offeror's choice once the item closes. If the item does not sell, all entries are returned to their owners for use in other sweepstakes.
THE BUYING AND SELLING PROCESS
Once you register, you will have a secure account from which you may post items on prizeWise that you wish to sell - just like eBay. Suppose you have a 2002 Honda Civic you could sell on eBay for $10,000. Once you have paid the one time $15 fee, you may post it on prizeWise for up to 180% of market value, so you post this car on prizeWise for $18,000. Other users attempt to win your car by entering their tickets in your Civic sweepstakes, which they have received with coupons they purchased for $1.00 a piece, or free by mail request or other mechanisms. Each ticket represents one dollar towards the designated value of your item, regardless of how the ticket was obtained. Once 18,000 tickets have been entered on your item, the sweepstakes automatically closes, a winning ticket is randomly selected, and the winner is notified. The sweepstakes winner gets your car, and you, the Offeror, get the $18,000 (less our fees and charitable donation totaling 21%). After applicable fees, you would receive $14,220 for your car, a near 15% more than eBay.
When a prizeWise sweepstakes ends, we hold the money in escrow until the item is delivered to the winner by the Offeror. Once proof of delivery is confirmed by both, we send a check directly to the Offeror for the sale price minus our 21% commission (as detailed above). We will hold funds pending delivery of the item.
The seller will receive payment from prizeWise directly.
In order to ensure delivery tracking, we recommend that you ship your item with a company that requires signature upon receipt/delivery. If you have proof of delivery you can still be paid if the winner fails to confirm receipt. Winners who do not receive the prize from the Offerer will be paid the money the Offerer would have been if the item is not sent within 14 days. You can contact us directly about payment issues at: CustomerService@prizeWise.com

Register today to begin winning, selling, and saving!
No purchase necessary to enter or win. A coupon purchase on the site will not enhance chances of winning a prize. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received for each item, subject to the limit set by the Offeror (and shown in each sweepstakes). No assignment, transfer or substitution of prize is permitted. All prize values are expressed in U.S. Dollars.
Taxes are the sole responsibility of winner. Minors may not participate in the sweepstakes (as defined by the jurisdiction of minor's residence), and will not be awarded prizes.
All prizeWise users agree to be bound be the terms laid forth in the prizeWise User Agreement above.
Do I have to make a purchase?
No. No purchase is necessary to enter any of the sweepstakes on our site. Anyone over eighteen (18), or the age of majority if higher in your jurisdiction, may write in for a free ticket to the appropriate address below:
prizeWise Free Game Piece Request

Woods Cross, UT 84087
United States of America
You must include your e-mail associated with your prizeWise account. You also must include a self-addressed stamped envelope (with only local postage). Residents of the state of Vermont may omit return postage. If you do not have an account, include your name and address, and we will open an account for you. You will receive a free ticket in the mail with a promotion number on it, and account information if you've requested one be established. You may enter this number during Registration, or in the "My Account" section of the site once logged in, and one free ticket will be credited to your account for use in any sweepstakes you wish.(1 free ticket per person)
If you choose to buy coupons, you will automatically have one free game piece credited to your account for every coupon you purchase. If you, for example, purchase 18 coupons, those 18 coupons will appear in your account for you to print and use, as will 18 sweepstakes tickets for entry in whatever sweepstakes pleases you.
Why are the tickets free?
The tickets are given to you free of charge because PrizeWise offers sweepstakes, not paid-entry raffles or lotteries, and applicable laws prohibit requiring a purchase to enter a sweepstakes. All tickets used to participate in sweepstakes are given to PrizeWise account holders as a bonus for purchasing coupons from the site. Also, anyone may write in for a free ticket
How do I know I've won?
PrizeWise will send you a notification that you have won a sweepstakes via your personal email and will also notify you when you log into your account.
You can view the status of your sweepstake ticket submissions on your account summary page (the "My Account" feature when logged in). This page gives you an overview of the number of prizes won, lost and pending.
The email that is sent to you will include the Offerer's contact information as well as a description of the item. The Offerer will also receive an email with your contact information (as it has been entered in your account). They will ship your item to you using this information. If you wish to have the item sent to a different mailing address, you will have to contact the seller directly. Once you receive your item, you must acknowledge receipt in your "My Account" section.
PrizeWise does not assume any responsibility for damaged or defective items. However, you can contact us at sales@prizewise.com to provide us with seller-feedback.
What if I lose?
You can view the status of all your sweepstakes by logging into your account and viewing your account summary page (the red "My Account" button on the top menu when logged in). Here you will find detailed information on all prizes won, lost and pending.
If you have lost a sweepstakes prize, you still have the ability to view the item information, including the winner's alias, the amount of tickets entered by the winner, and the winning ticket number, by entering the Sweepstakes Number of the item into the Search field.
Is every item won by someone?
Sweepstakes winners are selected once the prize has reached the reserve, which is the number of tickets entries required for the sweepstakes to close. Prizes expire after 30 -180 days if they haven't filled. The exact length is chosen and set by the Offerer when the item is posted. If sweepstakes fail to meet the reserve set by the Offerer, the tickets are returned to their owners for use in other sweepstakes.
Sweepstake participants can view tickets that have been returned. Log into your account and view. The first page you see will be the Account Summary page. Here you can view the status of all tickets available, pending and returned.
The answer to my question isn't here!
That's OK, we can't answer every question here in the FAQs. Simply visit the contact page of our website and fill out the form. One of our prizeWise customer services representatives will reply within 2 business days.
The Sweepstakes
Who chooses the winner?
This selection process is completely random. The winning ticket is selected by prizeWise's computers. It is currently prizeWise procedure to have an Intel random number generator, seeding by noise internal to the computers' conductors, pick the winners of all sweepstakes. The winning ticket is chosen and posted the moment the final ticket in entered. This process has been proven highly reliable and perfectly random. If there is ever a situation in which a winner must be chosen by hand (i.e. a site bug, an invalid first time winner, etc...), the winning ticket number will be chosen by a reputable, independent third party with whom we contract, such as our accounting firm or law firm. In the future, we may make arrangements to choose the winners to certain high ticket items live via web cam on the site.
How long does the sweepstakes last?
Generally, the sweepstakes ends as soon as the number of ticket entries in the sweepstakes has reached the approved reserve set by the Offeror (the price). Offerors choose the price they want for an item they post, and the sweepstake ends when it's reached. All sweepstakes also have an expiration date; a date by which if the ticket entries have not reached quota the sweepstakes expires and all entrants get their tickets back. If a sweepstakes expires without reaching its reserve, the Offeror will have 48 hours to accept the lesser amount of tickets entered, and close the sweepstakes, before the tickets are returned to their owners.
The maximum amount of time a sweepstakes prize can be active is 180 days. All sweepstakes will expire in 30 -180 after they are posted, as chosen by the Offeror. Once again, if quota is not reached in that amount of time, the sweepstakes is closed and the tickets that have been entered are returned to their owners. Once it closes, sellers will have the option of relisting the item if they wish for a lesser amount.
How does the seller get paid?
When the prize sweepstakes ends, we hold the money in escrow until the item is delivered to the winner by the seller. Once proof of delivery is confirmed by both, we send a check to the seller for the sale price minus our 21% commission. We will hold funds pending delivery of the item.
The seller will receive payment from PrizeWise directly.
In order to ensure delivery tracking, we recommend that you ship your item with a company that requires signature upon receipt/delivery. If you have proof of delivery and payment has been delayed due to the winner not confirming receipt, you can contact us directly to speed up payment sales@prizewise.com
How does the winner get the prize?
The Offeror must ship the item to the winning participant upon close of the sweepstakes for that prize. The contact information for Offeror and winner will be emailed to both parties. At that point, Offeror and winner are responsible for coordinating where the prize is to be shipped.
Seller is responsible for paying for shipping unless the item is being sent outside the Continental US or Canada. If the winner resides outside the US or Canada, the Offeror may wait to ship until the winner remits payment of shipping charges to the Offeror.
If you have won a prize and are having difficulty contacting the seller, contact us at CustomerService@prizewise.com
Winning and Losing
How will I know if I've won?
PrizeWise notifies you two ways. You will receive an e-mail containing the Offeror's contact information, along with details on the prize. The seller will receive a similar notice, and will not be paid until the item is delivered. You should follow-up with the seller to coordinate shipping details and confirm shipping information.
You will also be notified via your account summary page. On this page you can access detailed information on the status of all the tickets won, lost and pending.
The seller will ship your item to you using the contact details you have provided in your account information. If you wish to have the item sent to a different mailing address, you will have to work that arrangement out with the seller. We suggest that any agreements between winners and sellers to deviate from the PrizeWise rules should be in writing (or e-mail) as proof of the agreement.
What if I lose?
When you log into your account, you can view items won, lost and pending. The coupons you receive are yours to use as you please.
Any item you have bid on and lost can be viewed in your account and will include the username of the winner, and the number of the winning ticket.
How do I get my prize?
The seller must ship the item to the winning participant upon close of the raffle. The contact information for seller and winner will be emailed to both parties. At that point, seller and winner are responsible for coordinating where the prize is to be shipped.
The Offeror (seller) is responsible for paying for shipping unless the item is being sent outside the Continental US or Canada, in which case the Offeror may wait until the shipping price is remitted by the winner to ship.
If you have won a prize and are having difficulty contacting the seller, contact us at winners@prizewise.com
Who pays for shipping?
The person, or entity, selling the item pays the cost of shipping unless the winner resides outside the North American continent, in which case the winner will have to pay the additional cost. All items must be shipped to foreign winners unless the laws of the seller's jurisdiction forbid it (as may be the case with animals, ivory, and gold). The cost of shipping should be factored into the target asking price.
I got my prize. What now?
You must now immediately confirm receipt of the item in your account, so the seller can be paid. To confirm receipt, login through the top menu bar. Once in the My Account section, click the "Prizes" button in the blue menu bar, and click "Prizes Won" on the left. You will be shown a list of the prizes you have won. Select the prizes you have received, and click "Item Received" below. You will show a pop-up window in which you MUST confirm receipt, and rate the seller.
Entering to Win
How do I buy an item on prizeWise?
The only items you can buy on PrizeWise are coupons. All other items can only be won in other users' online sweepstakes.
To buy coupons, you must first have an account and log in through the top menu bar. Click the "Coupons" section on your account summary page, or the "Tickets" button at the top of the site. Coupons cost $1.00 a piece (or $1.30 if purchased in quantities of less than 15). You may choose the coupons or have them randomly assigned. With each coupon you buy, you receive one ticket (one sweepstakes entry to use as you choose). You may enter these tickets in any sweepstakes you like on the site. You may also write in for a free game piece (click the "Tickets" button at the top of the site, or the link at the bottom for more information).
Each sweepstakes has a ticket quota and an expiration date. A winner is chosen by computer when the number of the tickets entered in the prize reaches quota, or upon expiration if the sweepstake's sponsor decides to accept less than quota at that time. If the sweepstakes expires without reaching quota, and the seller chooses not to accept the amount of tickets then entered, the tickets are returned to the sweepstakes participants who entered them.
Can I skip the sweepstakes and just buy an item?
No. There is no such thing as a "Buy it Now" on PrizeWise. The only way to acquire the item is by entering tickets in the sweepstakes. You may increase your chances as much as you like, however, by entering as many tickets as you choose. You may also contact the seller through the prize page and ask if he/she has a duplicate item they would be willing to sell.
Sellers are permitted to enter tickets on their own items. There is no limit to how many game pieces a user may enter in any sweepstakes.
Increasing your odds of winning
You increase your odds of winning by entering more tickets into the sweepstakes you want. You may acquire tickets by buying coupons (by logging in and clicking "Coupons" in your account summary page, or by clicking the "Tickets" button above) or by writing in for a free game piece (see the link at the bottom of the page).
Why do I get tickets for purchasing from other stores like Best Buy?
Many online stores have partnered with prizeWise and offer us commissions for sending you over to purchase from them. Instead of just keeping the commissions all to ourselves, we decided to use the funds to run prizeWise and give out free sweepstakes tickets. So make sure to always start at prizeWise before shopping online. You can still buy from a trusted online retailer, but earn free tickets for great prizes at no extra cost!
Selling on prizeWise
You mean I can sell my item for whatever I want?
Here's how it works... Let's say you want to sell your car, a 1995 Honda Accord. On eBay you could probably expect to receive $5,000 for the car, but you want more for your effort.
Now you can list your car on PrizeWise for $9,000. Once you have listed it with PrizeWise, people will start entering their raffle tickets on your prize in hopes of winning your 1995 Accord. As soon as 9,000 tickets have been entered, PrizeWise will make a drawing for the winner. The winner will then collect their prize and you will collect your $9,000(less our 21% commission). It's that simple.
PRICING RESTRICTIONS:
We reserve the right to refuse to post items offered for sale that we deem to be grossly overpriced. It discourages people from entering the auction and purchasing on the site. On cars, our general rule is that the sale price must less than 180% of NAPA low-blue book value, and we judge items without blue-book values under a similar standard. If your posting is refused, we will tell you why and for what price we will approve it if you resubmit. You may appeal a denial to the reviewing manager, and there is an explanation field in the Item Submission Form where you may explain the reasons a higher than normal value may be justified to us. However, we have no obligation to accept any item for inclusion in a sweepstakes, and reserve the right to exclude any item at our sole discretion.
Can I post gift cards or certificates
No. We do not allow gift cards to be posted on PrizeWise; We apologize for these restrictions, but feel they must be in place to control frenzied posting, and to ensure prizes are posted in moderation sufficiently that there are enough buyers to close the items.
What if my item doesn't sell enough tickets?
You choose how long your item stays on prizeWise before expiring if enough tickets aren't entered (from 30 - 180 days). If in that amount of time you do not reach the target number of ticket entries you have requested, the sweepstakes will close and tickets will be returned to all buyers.
After your sweepstakes has closed due to insufficient ticket entries, you will have the option to relist the item and start a new sweepstakes.
Can I change the ticket amount of my sweepstakes after it starts?
You cannot increase it. We will allow you to lower it (thus improving the odds for participants), but you cannot increase it. Offerors (sellers) also have the option at any time to pick a winner early, before all the tickets have been entered. This means some sweepstakes may close unexpectedly if the Offeror decides he/she is satisfied with the entries at a particular time. Offerors also are given 48 hours after a sweepstakes expires to accept the lesser amount of tickets entered, and have a winner chosen, before the prize is canceled and tickets are returned to their owners.
How much do I pay prizeWise?
For now, it is free to post an item for sale. You pay nothing if the item fails to sell.
It is important also to remember that all items posted for sale must be approved before going live, and they must comply with our posting policies to be approved (See "What is PrizeWise?" above). We do not allow pornography on the site.
How do I get paid?
f you sell an item in our trading platform, through our Sweepstakes Rewards Program, PrizeWise will process the sale and send you a check for 79% of the sale price after receipt of the item has been confirmed by the winner.
You are required to post the tracking number and courier service in your "My PrizeWise" section as soon as you send the item. If you do not ship with a tracking number, you risk forfeiting payment for the sale if the winner denies receipt. The winner is required to confirm receipt in their "My PrizeWise" section as soon as the item is received. If a winner who has received an item fails to confirm receipt, that winner risks being blacklisted, and forever bared from the site. Sellers risk the same if they fail to post the tracking information. If an item has been sent, and the winner never confirms receipt, we will attempt to independently verify receipt with the tracking number you have provided, and send you the check. We normally will only blacklist repeat offenders.
On larger items (items over $2,000), PrizeWise will honor requests by the Offeror (seller) to deliver the money to an out of house escrow agency if the seller is more comfortable with that arrangement before delivering the item to the winner. In very large transactions, such as real estate, PrizeWise is willing to make special arrangements with the seller to deliver the money before conveyance of the prize if necessary to facilitate the transaction (such as paying mortgages, etc...).
When should I send my item to the winner?
Send the item as soon as it sells! You will be sent the winner's contact information, and the winner will be sent your contact information so you can communicate and facilitate the transfer.
Why can't I find my item for sale on prizeWise?
If you have posted an item for sale, you should be able to see the status of the item by clicking "Prizes" in the blue menu bar inside your "My PrizeWise" section.
The Prizes section shows you the status of all prizes. Generally, if you can't find your item on the site and you have recently posted it, it is because the item is awaiting review, or has been reviewed and rejected. If you had an item that was live and has disappeared, it has probably sold or expired. Once again, view the Prizes section.
Periodically, we pull items that are live from the site which has slipped through the approval process and are not appropriate. If this happens, tickets entered in the item are returned to their owners.
Contact prizeWise through our online form on our contact page.
To get to the "My PrizeWise" section by logging in through the red "Login" button in the site's top menu bar. You may become a registered user by clicking "Sign Up Here" on the homepage. Anytime you wish to return to the homepage while browsing the site, click the PrizeWise logo in the top left.
Can I edit my items?
You can lower the price and change the pictures on any item you have for sale on the site. You may also add amendments to the description. You can do all of this by logging into your account through the red login button in the top menu bar, then clicking the blue "Prizes" button in your My PrizeWise section on the right, and then click the blue "Prizes I'm Selling" button in the left menu bar.
Can prizeWise pay me using payPal?
Yes. You can choose to be paid with PayPal for your item when you post it (although there is a 5% fee for using Paypal), or after you sell it before you receive your check. If you have sold an item and want to be paid with PayPal, login to your account through the redin Login button in the top menu bar. Once on the My PrizeWise page, click the blue Prizes button, and then the Prizes I've Sold button on the left. Click the prize you have sold that you want to be paid on, and select "PayPal" from the pop-down menu.
Can prizeWise pay me in prizeWise tickets?
Sorry but prizeWise tickets have no cash value. But you can always use money earned on prizeWise to buy coupons or parter products to earn more tickets.
